All Mortal Kombat 11 Characters: Full Roster

Mortal Kombat is a game created by Netherrealm studios that have recently finished development on MK11 and released all Mortal Kombat 11 characters.

Mortal Kombat has been around since 1992. Thirty years later, the franchise is still going strong, and more characters have been added to the Mortal Kombat roster.

The latest entry to the Mortal Kombat franchise is Mortal Kombat 11 which was released in April 2019 and the full roster features a massive list of Mortal Kombat characters.

There are three different packs, Aftermath Expansion, Kombat Pack 1, and Kombat Pack 2. Each pack can be purchased separately, however, from 2020 onward you can simply buy the Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate Edition which has all the DLC packs included.

Let us look at the individual Mortal Kombat 11 packs roster:

  • Pre-Order Bonus: Shao Kahn
  • MK11 Pack 1: The Terminator, Spawn, Shang Tsung, Sindel, Nightwolf, and The Joker. The pack also features seven exclusive skins.
  • MK11 Aftermath: Robocop, Sheeva, Fujin, and a cinematic story mode.
  • MK11 Pack 2: Rambo, Mileena and Rain.

Alright, you might ask who are all the characters on Mortal Kombat 11? Let us dive in the full list of Mortal Kombat 11 characters and their abilities.

The base game of Mortal Kombat 11 comes with 24 base characters. Combining that with the packs mentioned above, the total is 37 playable characters in the Mortal Kombat 11 roster.

Mortal Kombat 11: Base Game Roster

They are the characters you will get in the normal MK11 game. When you log in, you will find a character selection screen, The available characters are the ones below. They also take part in the basic main story mode.

Baraka

Baraka Mortal Kombat 11

Baraka is a recurring character in the MK franchise and is the War Chief of the nomadic Tarkatan tribe. The Tarkatan antagonist can retract a pair of blades from his forearms which make for a crazy Fatality finishing move. Besides the Tarkatan Blades, Baraka also uses a War Banner as a weapon.

Cassie Cage

Cassie Cage from MK11

A Special Forces soldier and daughter of legendary parents Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade. Cassie Cage is also an Earthrealm Defender that made her debut in Mortal Kombat X.

Being the child of 2 other strong characters, it can be expected that Cassie Cage is possible the best Mortal Kombat 11 character to play.

Cassie Cage’s weapons are a Drone, Nightstick, and Hand Guns.

Cetrion

MK11 Roster - Cetrion

Cetrion is one of the new characters in Mortal Kombat 11 and is also the sub-boss in the main story mode. She is the Elder Goddess of life, virtue, and light and is also the daughter of Kronika and sister of Shinnok.

As a playable character in MK11, her moveset is mainly focused on zoning with most of Cetrion’s moves being attacks that keep enemies away from her.

D’Vorah

D'Vorah from Mortal Kombat 11

A female Kytinn that was first introduced in MK:X and part of a swarm of sentient insects who share a hive mind. D’Vorah lies, cheats, and backstabs anyone just so that her hive can survive.

Out of all MK characters, she is not really strong, ranking at the lowest tier when it comes to competitive play.

Erron Black

Erron Black is an Earthrealm-born mercenary from Texas that resides in the Outworld. Adventuring into the Outworld with Kano, Erron Black decided to reside in the Outworld and become the deadliest outlander.

In MK11, Erron Black delivers fatal blows using Revolvers, Dynamite, Saurian Acid, a Nether Beast Trap, and a Lever Action Rifle.

Frost

Frost Mortal Kombat

Frost is Sub-Zero’s most dangerous apprentice that players can unlock after beating the fourth chapter in the main story. She is a Lin Kuei warrior who possesses the ability to control ice.

In MK 11, Frost’s main weapons are Ice Daggers, an Ice Scythe, and Cybernetic Weapons.

Geras

Geras - New MK Characters

Joining the MK 11 roster and making his first appearance as a playable character is Geras. Geras was created by Kronika, the former keeper of time and can use his abilities to manipulate sand and time.

In the main story of MK 11, Geras plays the role of the antagonist. When you play as Geras, his main weapons are Knuckle Duster, Stone Sword, Sand Hammers.

Jacqui Briggs

Daughter of Jax Briggs and a Special Forces operative, Jacqui Briggs has a pair of electronic gauntlets as her primary weapon.

Jade

Jade from Mortal Kombat 11

Jade started as a secret character in Mortal Kombat II and remained a recurring support character ever since. She is a stealth assassin and Imperial Bodyguard that is lifelong friends with Kitana.

Jade’s primary weapons in MK11 are a steel bō staff and a Triblade.

Jax Briggs

Jax Briggs is the leader of a Special Forces unit and has incredibly upper-body strength and metal bionic arms. He is a human from the Earthrealm and uses his bionic arms, a thumper, and a shotgun to obliterate his enemies.

Johnny Cage

Everyone familiar with the MK franchise has heard of Johnny Cage. Johnny Cage is our favorite B-list celebrity who is one of the original 7 Mortal Kombat characters. He is an action movie star with a martial arts background, savior of the Earthrealm, and proves that he’s an even braver hero in real life than in the films.

Johnny Cage is a staple of the MK franchise that uses Brass Knuckles as his main weapon in MK11.

Kabal

Kabal - playable characters in Mortal Kombat 11

Kabal’s sprinting speed is only outpaced by his greed. He is a former member of the Black Dragon criminal organization and wears a specialized helmet with a built-in life-support system.

Kabal has superhuman speed and uses a pair of Hookswords and Sawblades as his primary weapon.

Kano

Leader of the Black Dragon and one of the 7 original characters from the Mortal Kombat arcade game. Kano is distinguished by his cybernetic eye, which he often uses as a laser.

Kano has a bunch of weapons at his disposal and in MK11 he uses Butterfly Knives, his Bionic Eye, Cybernetic Heart, Boot Blades, Molotov Cocktails, and Flammable Chemicals.

In competitive play, Kano ranks at the lower end of the tier list making him one of the weakest characters to play in MK11.

Kitana

Kitana, Princess of Outworld

First introduced in Mortal Kombat 2, Kitana is a princess of Outworld who is 10,000 years old and focuses on assassination. Kitana’s primary weapon is a pair of steel fans, which she uses for most of her special attacks. Kitana’s secondary weapon is sai.

Kollector

New MK11 Characters - Kollector

One of the new characters in Mortal Kombat 11, Kollector serves as a debt collector for Shao Kahn. The Kollector is a six-armed species, which allows him to utilize a wide array of weaponry, including a Chained Mace, Sickle, Shotels, Mystic Beacon, Bolas, and Chakram.

Unfortunately, Kollector is one of the weakest characters in Mortal Kombat 11 and ranks near the bottom in the tier list.

Kotal Kahn

Kotal Kahn’s real name is Ko’atal and became a new playable character in MK11. Ko’atal is a former emperor of Outworld that was one of the antagonists of Mortal Kombat X where he was first introduced.

Kotal Kahn’s weapons are Macuahuitl, Tecpatl, Sickles, and Totems.

Kung Lao

Kung Lao

Descendant of Great Kung Lao and a Shaolin monk, the younger Kung Lao claimed his greatness by defeating the deadly alliance of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi in Mortal Kombat.

Kung Lao’s main weapon is a razor-rimmed hat, which he uses for both melee and projectile attacks. He also uses Wing Chun as his fighting style.

Liu Kang

One of the original characters of Mortal Kombat is Liu Kang, a Shaolin monk who is also known as the Chosen One. The title was given to Liu Kang after defeating Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat to become Earthrealm Champion. His weapons are the Dragon Sword and Nunchaku.

You can play Liu Kang in the base roster and he is one of the best Mortal Kombat 11 characters that you can play. In MK11 Liu Kang can transform into a dragon as well as create or summon tiny dragons in the palm of his hand.

Noob Saibot

Noob Saibot - Original Sub-Zero

Noob Saibot is a fan favorite and one of the few original characters introduced in the first Mortal Kombat game. Back then, Noob was known as the original Sub-Zero and later passed the mantle on to his younger brother. Noob is also known as Bi-Han and the Elder Sub-Zero.

In Mortal Kombat 11, Noob uses a Sickle as his main weapon.

Raiden

Raiden is an incredibly popular playable character in Mortal Kombat and one of the 7 original characters to the franchise. He is also the God of thunder who possesses control over lightning, and the mentor to the Earthrealm defenders.

In MK 11 Raiden’s main weapon is a staff along with his many lightning-based abilities.

Scorpion

Everyone familiar with Mortal Kombat has heard of seen of the famous “Get over here” fatality. Scorpion is an original MK character that appeared in the first arcade game and has since then become a recurring character in the series.

His real name is Hanzo Hasashi and he is an undead ninja, defined by his quest to avenge the deaths of himself, his family, and his clan. In the 2nd timeline, he was restored as a human and learned the truth of his demise.

Scorpion’s main weapons are Kunai, Mugai Ryu, and Tantō.

Skarlet

Debuted in the 2011 Mortal Kombat game as a DLC character. Skarlet was reborn when Shao Kahn anointed her in blood. She fights for the Outworld.

Skarlet’s weapons are Blood Tendrils, Blood Weapons, Vile of Blood, Daggers, and Tanto. Yes, Skarlet is a badass character to play with.

Sonya Blade

Another original MK character is Sonya who was featured as one of the first 7 playable characters in the first arcade game.

Sonya Blade uses Tae Kwon Do, is a military officer, defender of Earthrealm, and Sonya Blade’s main weapons in MK11 are grenades and a Turret. She is also the wife of Johnny Cage.

Out of all characters in Mortal Kombat, Sonya Blade ranks at the highest tier as the best character Mortal Kombat 11 has to offer.

Sub-Zero

The full roster isn’t complete without one of the original Mortal Kombat characters Sub-Zero. Kuai Liang, also known as Sub-Zero is also known as the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei clan. He is principally defined by his ability to control ice in many forms, which leads to some of the best fatalities in Mortal Kombat.

Sub-Zero’s main weapons are Ice Daggers, Kori Blade, and an Ice Pollaxe that creates the best fatality in the MK franchise.

Shao Kahn

DLC Playable Character - Shao Kanh

Shao Kahn is one of the most known antagonists in the entire video game industry. He is the emperor of Outworld and the main antagonist in Mortal Kombat. Shao Kahn is feared for his immense strength, which he complements with knowledge of black magic, a large hammer, and a spear as weapons.

Those that didn’t purchase the Ultimate Edition could only get Shao Kahn as a playable character by pre-ordering Mortal Kombat 11 before the release. If you purchase the Ultimate Edition you get the full roster which includes Shao Kahn.


Mortal Kombat 11: Kombat Pack 1

The Kombat Pack 1 DLC added 6 new playable DLC characters as well as 6 Themed Skin Packs which include: The Klassic Arcade Ninja Skin Pack, The Klassic Arcade Fighter Pack, The Double Feature Skin Pack, The Gothic Horror Skin Pack, and The DC Elseworlds Skin Pack.

Shang Tsung

The first final boss and the main antagonist in the original Mortal Kombat game is Shang Tsung. Born in Earthrealm (China), Shang Tsung is a powerful sorcerer in the relentless pursuit of powerful magic that led him to obtain dark power from Shao Kahn in the Outworld.

Shang Tsung can steal the souls of characters he defeats so he can continue his immortal living. He can also shapeshift by using the souls of the people he defeated.

Shang Tsung is one of the Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters that get unlocked after purchasing the Kombat Pack 1 or buying the Ultimate Edition.

Nightwolf

Nightwolf MK11 DLC Character

Grey Cloud AKA Nightwolf, is one of the most prolific Native American characters in video games. Nightwolf was chosen by the great spirit to protect Earthrealm and has abilities that allow him to enhance his strength and create weapons.

Nightwolf’s main weapons in MK11 are Tomahawks, Bow and Arrow, Spirit Daggers, and Gunstock War Club. You can add Nightwolf to your MK11 roster by purchasing either Kombat Pack 1 or getting the Ultimate Edition.

The Terminator (T-800)

The Terminator is one of the DLC characters Mortal Kombat 11 released in Kombat Pack 1.

T-800 is modeled after Arnold Swarzenegger who played a famous role in the Terminator movies. The Terminator’s main weapons include a Shotgun, Machine gun, and Ion Grenades.

Sindel

Queen of Edenia - Sindel

Former Queen of Edenia, now Queen of Outworld, Sindel can create sonic screams and can also use her hair as a weapon. Sindel is also a secondary antagonist in the Aftermath expansion pack.

As a playable character, she might remind you of a Dark Souls boss but Sindel’s main weapon is Kwan Dao, which is a form of a Chinese pole weapon.

The Joker

Joker returned to MK11 as a DLC character after a crossover game called Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. If you are familiar with the Batman series, then you undoubtedly know who the Joker is.

In MK11, the Joker fights using a cane, knives, an extended boxing glove, explosive rigged toys, an explosive rigged cake, a gasoline can, a dummy, and a Tommy Gun.

Spawn

Spawn in MK11 Roster

Spawn is a former U.S. government soldier and assassin, known as Albert Francis “Al” Simmons who was mercilessly executed by his own men. Resurrected from Hell as a Hellspawn, Spawn enters Mortal Kombat as a guest Mortal Kombat 11 fighters that players unlock by purchasing the Kombat Pack 1 DLC.

Spawn fights with K7-Leetha (a parasite), Sword, Battle Axe, Mace, Hell Chains, Machine Guns


Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Characters

The Aftermath expansion includes an all-new cinematic story with 3 new playable MK characters which are shown below. You also receive the Aftermath expansion when purchasing the Ultimate Edition of MK11.

Fujin

Fujin Aftermatch DLC

Part of the Aftermath Expansion Pack as a playable character is the God of Wind and brother to Raiden. Fujin is adept at inspiring peoples’ innate capacity for goodness and heroism.

Not only does Fujin look epic, he is also one of the best MK characters for the story mode of the game.

Fujin uses a Kusanagi no Tsurugi (Grass-Cutting Blade) as his weapon.

Sheeva

Sheeva Aftermath Expansion DLC Character

Sheeva is Mortal Kombat’s first playable Shokan fighter. She is the Queen of the Shokan, which are a half-human, half-dragon race distinguished by their four arms and enormous size. Sheeva now leads her people in the fight to attain their rightful place, as partners in Outworld’s rule.

Originally Sheeva makes an appearance in the base game’s story mode but in the Aftermath expansion pack, she becomes a playable character.

Sheeva fights using her hands, feet, and can summon fireballs.

RoboCop

RoboCop MK11 Full Roster

Alex Murphy was a former human who was brutally executed by a local gang. Now he is a highly advanced cybernetic police officer that is built to uphold the law and protect the innocent. RoboCop enters MK11 as a playable guest character in the Aftermath Expansion Pack.

RoboCop has a bunch of weapons which include an Auto 9 Handgun, Terminal Strip, Cobra Assault Cannon, Gunarm, Collapsible Riot Shield, Shoulder Grenade Launcher, and a Flightpack.


Mortal Kombat 11: Kombat Pack 2

The Kombat Pack 2 is the last DLC pack that introduced 3 additional playable MK11 characters to the Mortal Kombat 11 characters list to complete the full roster of MK11.

Mileena

Mileena Kombat Pack 2

Mileena is an important character in the MK universe and has become a playable character in almost every title where she made an appearance.

She is the product of Shang Tsung’s diabolical cloning experiments. A clone of the Edenian princess Kitana, created with the blood of the Tarkatan species. Mileena has deformed facial features of the Tarkatan, which she conceals with a veil. She is a power-hungry, unstable villain in the Mortal Kombat story mode.

Mileena’s main weapons in MK 11 are Sai and Clawed Gauntlets.

Rain

Rain Kombat Pack 2

Demi-God Rain is the son of Argus and half-brother to Taven and Daegon. Royal demigod from the realm of Edenia. Rain’s powers center around water manipulation and he is the first playable character in Mortal Kombat history to appear more than once as a DLC character.

In MK11, Rain’s weapon of choice is Jamadhar/Katar.

John Rambo

John Rambo in Mortal Kombat 11

Modeled after Sylvester Stallone, John Rambo (yes, that Rambo) makes a guest appearance as a playable character in Mortal Kombat 11. Rambo is a former US Special Forces soldier VET who is haunted by his time in Vietnam. John Rambo is rough, aggressive, and has ruthless fighting skills.

In Mortal Kombat 11, Rambo uses various weapons which include an M60 Light Machine Gun, Bow and Arrow, Bowie Knife, Grenades, Traps, and Claymore Mines.
